St. John's Fortress

Wayfinding

By installing signage at St. John's Fortress in Šibenik, the project for fortification signage in Šibenik, which began in 2017, has been completed. In this way, we have unified all three fortresses (St. Michael's Fortress, Barone Fortress, and St. John's Fortress) with a single concept and connected them with the same visual language, making it easier for all visitors to navigate these cultural monuments. The concept of the signage was explained in the presentation for St. Michael's signage, and for this work, we received special recognition from the Vienna Institute for Information Design (IIID Awards - Editors' Choice).

The specificity of St. John's Fortress lies in the fact that it consists of two parts, each with a specific purpose. The front part of the fortress has been renovated to present cultural and historical heritage, intended for the local population and tourists, while the other part of the fortress houses a large park through which visitors can freely move. Below the park, there is a student campus that includes dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, and other service facilities.
